Competition win is a dream job come true!

Winning more than $70,000 worth of tools and equipment, including a brand new Fiat Scudo van, at the national Tradesman’s Expo is more than biggest prize 21 year old Dale Gibson from Erskine Park in Sydney has ever won, it will enable him to launch his own landscaping company.
The competition was launched at the National Tradesman’s Expo held around the country and when Dale entered little did he know that by winning the completion it would enable him to move from being an excavator operator to setting up his own business.
As befits a exhibition that has on display everything a tradie needs for their job, Dale Gibson has won all equipment he needs for his new company, starting with the Fiat Scudo long wheelbase van and including MW Sheet Metal tool boxes, a Toro trench digger, a Wacker demolition saw, a full set of Apex tools and even all the clothes and safety gear that he needs to work in all conditions provided by Proskill and CAT. And, remembering that tradies need to rest as well as work, the prize also includes an MW Sheet metal camper trailer and a boat and trailer combination package!
“I could not have asked for a better prize,” said Dale. “Now I can stop thinking about a day to day job and starting planning a career and my own business.
Dale was presented with his prize at Grand Motors Parramatta, Western Sydney’s Fiat commercial vehicle centre, by Ed Butler, Dealer Principal.
“There’s an old Chinese proverb that says that if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime,” says Mr Butler. “I am sure that, in a very real sense, this is what winning the Ultimate Tradie’s Package will do for Dale, it has provided him, literally, with the tools with which to launch his career – and, of course, a brand new Fiat Scudo van in which to carry them all around!”
